Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Where are the games played at?

The soccer league has two fields: the north field and the south field. Both fields are located in the outfield of the two softball diamonds. The schedule will identify which field the game is on.  The following picture shows a map of the Collins C Ave Campus, from which you can see the softball diamonds to the right (east) of building 153 (south field) and the rec center (north field):

NOTE: The schedule will note if the matches will be played elsewhere (such as at the Tuma Soccer Complex).

  2. Do I need a team in order to play?

The answers varies.  The announcements section on the main page will indicate which registration method is being used.  In some cases, registrations for the league are handled per player, not per teams. After a player registers (see "How do I register for the league" below), he/she will be placed on a team.  In other cases, a captain submits a team request and players need to find a team to play on by talking to the captains.  In this case, anyone without a team can place their name on the available player list for possible placement after registration has ended.

  3. Who is eligible to play?

The following are eligible to play in the Rockwell Collins soccer league (NOTE: all of the following also include the age requirement of "18 or older"):

    • Rockwell Collins Employee (self and/or spouse)
    • Rockwell Collins Contractor (self and/or spouse)
    • Rockwell Collins Retiree (self and/or spouse)
    • Rockwell Collins Recreation Center Member

  4. Do I need to be an experienced soccer player?

No. The league is recreational, which means any skill level and experience is acceptable. The league is a mix of people with all different skill levels and experience. A team may have a complete beginner playing along side someone that has played soccer since he/she could walk. The intent of the league is to enjoy the game, have fun, meet new friends, and strengthen existing friendships.

  5. How much does the league cost?

The registration fee varies per session. The fee is also different depending on if you are subsidized or non-subsidized. The fee is generally around $11-$15 per person, per session (spring, summer, fall).  You will be informed of the exact amount when you complete the registration form.

  6. What day(s)/time(s) are the games?

The games are played on Wednesday nights, with start times as early as 5pm and as late as 8pm.  A schedule of the games will be posted on this website the Monday before the league starts.

  7. Is there a winter session?

    See the Futsal league.

  8. When are the different sessions?

Spring --> beg. of May to end of May
    Summer --> mid-June to early/mid-August
Fall --> end of August/beg. of September to mid/end October

  9. How do I register for the league?

Registration and payment is done online via the Register & Pay Online link at the left side of our website.  You will need a credit card in order to pay.

Registrations after the session deadline will only be accepted on an "as-needed" basis. That is, a late registrant will only be accepted if a team needs another player and the addition of the late registrant will not unbalance the teams.
  10. Are awards (trophies) given at the end of a league?

No, trophies are no longer given at the end of any leagues.  This was eliminated in lieu of raising registration fees.

  11. Here are basic rules (for anyone new or as a reminder). Please see the official rules on the link to the left.
