November 9 matches cancelled (posted 11/9/2011)
Tonight's (11/9) games are cancelled given all the rain (and now snow!) we've received. I'm sad to say this, but this also means the fall season is over. Thanks to everyone for an enjoyable year, and I look forward to seeing you again in the spring!

Eligibility - The following are eligible to play in the Rockwell Collins soccer league (NOTE: all of the following also include the age requirement of "18 or older"):

• Rockwell Collins Employee (self and/or spouse) - Subsidized
• Rockwell Collins Contractor (self and/or spouse) - Subsidized
• Rockwell Collins Retiree (self and/or spouse) - Subsidized
• Rockwell Collins Recreation Center Member (meeting none of the three bullets above) - Not Subsidized

General Reminders

Cancellation Number - As a reminder, please call 295-8888 (option 5) to determine if the games for this week have been cancelled due to the weather.  Assume that the games will still be played, unless there is a message stating otherwise.  Please note the date and time the message applies to since the last recorded message is what you will hear (in other words, the message could be old).  If the games aren't cancelled when you call and the weather is questionable please call again before heading out to your game since a cancellation may have been made since you last checked.

For anyone new to the league (or as a reminder), here are a few basics:

• We are responsible for moving the goals and cones on and off the field. Please show-up/stick-around before/after your game to help move the goals and cones.
• We play in the outfield of the softball field across (east) from the rec. center (in the "sports park").
• Shin-guards are required.
• There is no slide-tackling.
• Unlimited substitutions can be made "on-the-fly" (i.e. doesn't have to be a stoppage of play).
• Offside is enforced per Law 11 of the FIFA Laws of the Game (see link at left).
• Unless you are the goalie, you will need to wear a white shirt or a dark blue (such as navy blue) shirt. The first team listed in the pairing wears white and the other team wears dark blue. The goalie must wear a shirt that distinguishes him/her from the field players.
• The league is not allowed to paint lines on the grass, so our lines are mowed in the grass. Please be patient with this as it is obviously not as nice as having the lines painted.

• Please let your team captain know before the game if you cannot make the game.
